We are currently seeking a Product Chemistry Formulation Expert holding a degree in (analytical chemistry, physical chemistry) with strong experience in Product Chemistry Formulation of Pesticides, as Group Leader Product Chemistry in the Analytical Development Group (f/n/m) in Münchwilen (AG), Switzerland. In this role you will work in the Analytical Development & Product Chemistry department andbe an integral part of the global product chemistry formulation activities.

Location:  Switzerland – Münchwilen, Aargau (25 km East of Basel)


Role Purpose


You will lead several teams of Product Chemistry Formulation Experts and Professionals charged with the planning and execution of regulatory and non-regulatory projects from all indications (Herbicides, Fungicides, Insecticides; Professional Products).


You will lead a Syngenta global network of Product Chemistry Formulation (PCF) experts and you will represent Syngenta at international committees in close collaboration with other companies and national authorities (e.g. Crop Life International (SEG subgroup), BVL (subgroup DAPF) , ESPAC, CIPAC, FAO, etc.). With your expert knowledge in this area you will also influence standards across the industry.


For this kind of activities, you will take part in interdisciplinary and international projects and work in close collaboration with other technical, regulatory, supply chain functions.


Closely partnering with project and busines teams of the respective indications and regions is key to manage timelines and resources.


In your role as Group Leader Product Chemistry Formulation you will be part of the department leadership team influencing the strategy of the department.

 

Qualifications

 

What we expect:



  • A university degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Analytical Science or related discipline (background in organic chemistry is advantageous)

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in leading people and/or projects

  • Expertise in the Product Chemistry Formulation segment

  • Conversant with the different formulation types of agrochemicals

  • Excellent communication and teamwork are essential, as is a flexible approach to your work.

  • You will be expected to deal with changing requirements and achieve tight deadlines

  • Good leadership skills including coaching and influencing competencies

  • Ability to create a team spirit

  • Used to work in international project teams

  • You are fluent in English. Good knowledge in German, both oral and written, is beneficial.

  • Post-qualification experience, esp. working in a GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) regulated environment, would be beneficial
