Job Description


The Regional Director, Medical Affairs (RDMA), Europe,Women’s Health, reports into the Executive Director, Head of Women’s Health. The RDMA is accountable for driving the execution of medical plans for Women’s Health within their various countries in the European region.


Core elements to enabling success in the role will include:



  • Lead the regional Medical Affairs team to execute the annual medical plan for Women’s Health

  • Drive innovation across the region

  • Ensure scientific exchange is aligned with the global scientific communications platform

  • Partner with regional cross-functional teams, from Commercial to Real-World Evidence and Market Access, to drive the development and execution of regional plans

  • Consolidate actionable medical insights from countries in the region

  • Build and engage a network of key stakeholders from their region, including therapeutic guideline committees, payers, public groups, government officials, and medical societies

  • As the regional therapy area expert, support staff in engaging with their national scientific stakeholders

  • Organize regional expert input events to answer company questions on how to implement new medicines, for example with advisory boards and expert input forums

  • Seek opportunities to enhance medical’s visibility externally by organizing regional symposia and educational meetings

  • Support countries with the development of Local Data Generation study concepts and protocols

  • Review Investigator-Initiated Study proposals prior to headquarter submission

  • Manage regional programs, from patient support to educational or risk management programs, to promote appropriate and safe utilization of medicines


Education and Skills:



  • MD, PhD,E or PharmD

  • Proven medical expertise in Women’s Health, including contraception and fertility, with knowledge of the relevant regional healthcare environment

  • Extensive and proven competency in developing and leading in-country or regional Medical Affairs organizations

  • Scientific and clinical acumen with expertise in translation of clinical studies and emerging science into clinical practice in the region

  • Strong decision-making and prioritization skills, with the ability to comprehend how decisions fit into the broader corporate strategies

  • Ability to effectively work with partners across divisions

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
