Two PhD positions are opening in Inorganic Chemistry in the research group of Professor Jonathan De Roo
Your position
Position 1 starts as soon after 15.01.2021 as possible. Topic of research "Nanoclusters in metal organic frameworks"; involves nanocluster synthesis, organic synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, metal coordination chemistry, crystal growth, structural analysis, design of porous networks and frameworks. This project is joint with the group of Patrick Shahgaldian at FHNW.
Position 2 starts as soon after 15.01.2021 as possible. Topic of research "Nanocrystal contrast agents in bioimaging"; involves nanocrystal synthesis, organic chemistry, structural analysis, x-ray scattering, computed tomography, materials chemistry, image reconstruction and analysis, synchrotron measurements. This project is joint with the group of Anne Bonnin at PSI.
Your profile
Candidates must have completed Bachelor and Master degrees in Chemistry or Nanosciences (with adequate synthetic chemistry component), and be available within the next semester. The research group works mainly in English, and a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English is required.
