The Protein Production Unit of the NIBR Biologics Center produces antigens, therapeutic proteins and antibodies to support the discovery and development of new biotherapeutics.
Your work will contribute to the evaluation of a novel affinity chromatography system for the production and purification of proteins. For this purpose, you will develop new chromatography methods, produce and characterize recombinant proteins from different expression systems.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Recombinant expression of tagged proteins from different expression systems for biophysical characterization
• Using state-of-the art protein purification methods on ÄKTA FPLCs and Liquid handling workstations
• Developing methods for a novel type of affinity chromatography
• Applying standard biotechnology/biochemistry laboratory techniques or new methods from the literature
• Documentation and communication of results, e.g. in electronic lab note books and at lab meetings

Minimum requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
• Recent Master of Science in Biology, Biochemistry or Biotechnology.
• Fundamental knowledge of recombinant protein expression and protein separation techniques and principles
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in biochemistry/biotechnology laboratories
• IT skills (Microsoft Office)
• Proficiency in English (oral and written), knowledge of German or French language is a plus
• Team player attitude, interest in drug discovery
