Job Description




As the Head of Platforms Positioning, you will be responsible for the development of the GNSS navigation software for the embedded HW and SW teams, the validation and verification teams, as well as for the planning and system architecture for platforms. The Positioning platforms are a key success factor as they are the basis for all future positioning products.
The focus of this role will be the technical and administrative leadership of the team and to foster collaboration within the overall product center. You will be part of the Positioning management team and have interfaces outside of the product center to align on products, initiatives and processes.
This position reports to the Head of the Product Center Positioning.
 
















Responsibilities

  • Lead the platform teams within the Product Center Positioning which are geographically distributed in Europe

  • Assure the timely availability of platform components for the products team according to requirements

  • Responsible for the quality and verification of the platforms (HW and SW) to deliver on our quality promise and agreements to customers (e.g. to automotive customers)

  • Responsible for the platform and feature roadmap, e.g. create and propose the roadmaps, align with product and technology teams and their respective roadmaps, follow up implementation including update process

  • Responsible for roll-out and use of processes in platforms in accordance with the overall process landscape in the product center (e.g. PLM processes, agile processes)

  • Responsible for the requirements handling for new chip platforms with product management and system architects to have an aligned representation of the market requirements in the platform specifications

  • Responsible for the collaboration with our internal IC design team to align on our IC developments

  • Interface to internal teams, as well as to other stakeholders, e.g. other product centers and corporate functions like Quality and Security

Qualifications

  • University degree in electrical engineering, computer science, robotics, or equivalent education including significant experience in engineering work, preferably in embedded SW

  • Several years of experience in R&D leadership positions, over several levels

  • Good knowledge of agile and lean methodologies and frameworks

  • Experience of crafting and rolling out collaborations processes within the PLM landscape

  • Excellent leadership skills, e.g. communication and social interaction, motivation, driving things forward

  • Fluent in spoken and written English

Includes occasional travel to other u-blox sites within Europe.
