Mission



  • Ensure that the Technology Services Integrator and Applications Integrator fulfil their contractual obligations to the IOC in their delivery of services to the Organising Committees for the Olympic Games and Youth Olympic Games.

  • Manage specific technology related projects, services and operations for the Olympic Games and Youth Olympic Games.


 
Main responsibilities


Within the framework of a new Games technology delivery model to be implemented for the first time for Milano Cortina 2026, the “Games Technology Integration Manager” oversees, and contributes to, the provision of certain services delivered by the Technology Services Integrator (“TSI”) and Applications Integrator (“API”) to the Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (“OCOG”) and Youth Olympic Games (“YOGOC”).



In his/her role, the Manager will support the Head of Games Technology Services Integration and the wider IOC Games Technology team by providing expertise in various domains, including SIAM, Application Integration, and Vendor Management.



Generally, the Manager will:



  • Assist in ongoing management of the TSI and API suppliers’ contracts;

  • Assist in the on-boarding of new related suppliers, as applicable;

  • Ensure the implementation of and adherence to contractual commitments;

  • Create and manage day-to-day processes and procedures to manage suppliers’ deliveries;

  • Manage suppliers against scope and budget; and

  • Maintain the TSI and API contract documentation.


 


Specifically, the Manager will lead the IOC Games Technology Function in the review and approval of key processes and plans defined by the TSI and API for each OCOG and YOGOC, and will be responsible to monitor the implementation and daily operation of such processes and plans, including without limitation:



  • Approving and continuously monitoring the implementation of the SIAM plan developed by the TSI, including the validation that such plan properly describes how SIAM will be implemented for each Games in terms of programme governance, service provider management, stakeholder communications, schedule management, reporting procedures, risk management, quality management, etc.;

  • Working collaboratively with numerous stakeholders to ensure that the Technology Master Schedule developed and maintained by the TSI for each Olympic Games edition includes the milestones related to all technology services, the dependencies between service providers and the OCOG Technology department, as well as the dependencies on milestones from third-parties, in order for the OCOG Technology department and their service providers to meet their objectives and deadlines;

  • Ensuring that the Risk and Issue Management process developed by the TSI properly reflects the risk management process defined by the IOC and describes how risk management and issue management will be implemented for the each Games project, including risk/issue reviews, information to be included in the risk register and issue register, methodologies, practices and tools provided by the TSI, etc.;

  • Approving and continuously monitoring the implementation of the Collaboration Process developed by the TSI, including the validation that such process properly describes how the IOC, the OCOG and the service providers will share information and knowledge during the Games projects;

  • Validating that the Service Integration Test Strategy developed by the TSI properly describes the testing methodologies, practices and tools that will be used to ensure the quality and the end-to-end readiness of all technology services, covering testing activities such as infrastructure testing, disaster recovery testing, Test Events, technology rehearsals, Games simulation, etc.;

  • Ensuring that the Service Integration Test Plan developed by the TSI effectively describes how the Service Integration Test Strategy will be implemented, including the detailed schedule of all testing activities to be performed by all stakeholders, dependencies, entry and exit criteria to the different testing activities, etc.

  • Validating that the Applications Test Strategy developed by the API properly describes the testing methodology, practices and tools that will be used to ensure the quality and the end-to-end readiness of the IOC applications;

  • Ensuring that the Applications Test Plan developed by the API effectively describes how the Applications Test Strategy will be implemented, including the detailed schedule of all the testing activities to be performed at the Integration Test Lab by the API and the testing activities to be performed or supported by the application providers, other service providers and other stakeholders, as applicable. 


 


In addition, the Manager will participate in or manage various committees, forums and working groups, including without limitation:



  • An Innovation Working Group;

  • Risk and Issue Management forums;

  • Risk Assessment Meetings;

  • Technology Project Review Committees; and

  • Test Events, Technology Rehearsals, Games Simulations, and Games Debriefings.


 


In collaboration with the IOC Head of Olympic Games Technology and Energy, the IOC Head of Youth Olympic Games Technology and Energy and the IOC Head of Results, the Manager will also have certain operational responsibilities, as follows:



  • The provision and deliver of training, education, and transfer of knowledge to all relevant stakeholders;

  • The validation that the services delivered by the TSI during the Test Events are suitable and will pose no issues when adjusted to the scope and scale of the Games;

  • The confirmation that the operational readiness of the TSI during the Technology Rehearsals and Games Simulations is appropriate to manage Games operations;

  • The management of IOC Operations at the Technology Operations Centre during the Games.


 


The Manager will need to establish, build and manage relationships with a complex landscape of stakeholders that include a number of technology suppliers (beyond the TSI and API), OCOGs, YOGOCs, and various IOC departments (Sports, Games, Marketing, Legal, Finance, etc.) and will work towards the aim of having all stakeholders engaged, collaborate, cooperate, thrive, succeed, and play an active role in the success of the Games.



Education and work experience



  • University studies or higher education in technical and/or management discipline, with relevant professional experience

  • 5-8 years’ experience of managing complex projects or programmes related to major multi-disciplined sport events

  • Proven track record of vendor management

  • Solide experience in establish a realistic, clear and efficient course of action, to achieve individual or joint objectives

  • Proven experience in reaching an agreement through mutual concessions when face with competing interests between several interlocutors

  • SIAM, ITIL certifications

  • Excellent command of English; spoken and written
