Accounting Assistant

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AG is a joint venture company established with the purpose of planning, developing and building the TAP natural gas pipeline. TAP’s shareholding is comprised of BP (20%), SNAM (20%), SOCAR (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%).


As the Assistant Accountant you are part of the Accounts Payable Department. The Assistant Accountant is responsible for the administration of TAP’s group business expenses as well as supporting accounts payable and closing activities (including those of TAPs other branches).


 


You will be responsible for


 


 


Business Expense administration (Finance)



  • Ensure timely verification and first level approval of employees’ business expenses and compliance with respective company policies

  • Act as focal point for business expenses and credit card management and ensure smooth operation of accounting activities

  • Verification of uploaded TAP Credit Card charges with monthly statements and reconciliation of respective balance sheet accounts

  • Ensure full supporting documentation is provided and uploaded into SAP

  • Monthly reporting of all business expenses including Credit Cards as well as reporting on exceptions

  • Downloading and processing of monthly “double-entries report” and filing in SharePoint

  • Processing requests from “Inbound” expenses tool e-mail inbox


 


Support of Accounting activities



  • Provide support of accounting activities, including Accounts Payable (as and when required, including for country offices)

  • Recording office expenditures and ensuring these expenses are within the set budget

  • Support in internal and external audits

  • Support period-end activities

  • Support Reporting on debtors and creditors


 


In order to execute on these responsibilities, we would strongly prefer candidates that have already gained experience in the responsibilities outlined above. Our ideal candidate should have gained the experience necessary in this role by displaying the following attributes:


 



  • Commercial Education with knowledge in financial accouting and business administration

  • at least 2-3 years in a similar role

  • good understanding of business administration and financial accounting

  • experience working in a multicultural, international and dynamic environment

  • strong communication skills

  • ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines

  • flexible and service minded

  • team player with experience working in a multicultural environment

  • very good knowledge in SAP and Excel ideal

  • proficient in English and German
