For our IT infrastructure team at our headquarters in Winterthur we are looking for a


 


Senior Solutions Engineer


 


In this role you will support the Sulzer global infrastructure team and will ensure to move and keep Sulzer on a future oriented path with all the global infrastructure components, managed by the CoE Enterprise platform Team. You assist and participate in cross-functional projects to support the overall IT infrastructure goals and objectives.


 


Key responsibilities



  • As a Senior Solutions Engineer you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Support the Enterprise Team Lead in all technical, conceptional and architecture-based questions

  • Development and validation of design concepts and target solution architectures based on the IT-Microsoft stack

  • Supporting the global Enterprise team (2nd level and 3rd level support) in incidents and service requests for all enterprise services

  • Act as a consultant in Projects, where solutions or integrations from the Enterprise Portfolio are needed

  • Act as Escalation Point for Projects in Execution Phase

  • Act as Escalation Point for operational incidents

  • Pro-actively identifying changes needed in the environment lifecycle and make recommendations for improvements with the subsequent implementation

  • Assuring that all project documentation is up-to-date and handed over to the operational teams


 


Your profile



  • We expect a profound education in Computer Science or similar field and minimum 5 years broad technical infrastructure expertise in an international environment

  • As an experienced expert, you have proven strengths in Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Skype, Identity and Access Management, Office 365, Azure), infrastructure design and are familiar with scripting and programming languages such as PowerShell

  • You have knowledge in the areas of virtualization, security, monitoring, backup solutions, infrastructure management and end user computing

  • You are familiar with the relevant cloud architectures and strategies as well as the security, quality and compliance aspects in a cloud environment and can implement them technically

  • You must be able to work within a very diverse team in a virtual, geographically dispersed and culturally diverse environment, and with a wide array of stakeholders

  • You must have an in depth understanding of project methodologies (e.g. PMP / PMI, PRINCE2, Swiss IPMA), approaches (lean, agile, waterfall, etc.), requirements engineering, risk management

  • Knowledge of ITIL principles and processes

  • Able to work under pressure, workload and tight schedules

  • Flexibility to occasionally work off-hours in short notice due to emergencies or due to planned maintenances or changes

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, partnering and facilitation skills

  • Self-driven and proactive but able to respect and follow guidelines, regulations and standards

  • Position is based in Winterthur, Switzerland – May require travel, including maximum 5% International travel

  • Fluent in English and German
