Job Responsibilities


 


The Life Cycle Leader is accountable for the timely development of one or several Idorsia products to the market and an optimal lifecycle management of his/her asset(s) from entry-into-man through to patent expiration in accordance with the company strategy.


 


Under the leadership of the Life Cycle Leader, the life cycle teams bring global expertise from preclinical development, clinical development, chemistry, manufacturing & controls and marketing to the efficient development of new medicines.  Main responsibilities and tasks:


 



  • Leads the cross-functional LCT(s) and cross functional sub-teams

  • Ensures efficient teamwork and cross-functional integration

  • Facilitates decision-making within the LCT(s) and sub-teams

  • Challenges and motivates team members and identifies/resolves issues and conflicts

  • Identifies optimal processes and tools enabling cross-functional and cross-project integration

  • Drives the development and implementation of the compound strategy together with the functional areas (e.g. preclinical, clinical, regulatory, CMC, marketing)

  • Identifies resource needs and proposes solutions

  • Manages the Global Development Budget (internal & external) and Forecasts for his/her compound(s):

  • Monitors and controls the global development budget on an ongoing basis and provides latest estimates to Finance

  • Identifies deviations from the budget and proposes solutions

  • Presents the compound strategy and recommendations to the Idorsia Management Boards

  • Represents the Life Cycle Team in due diligence activities supporting the Company's Business

  • Coordinate and oversee Alliance/Partnership management activities of his/her asset(s) under co-developments


 


 


Candidate Requirements


 



  • University degree (preferable MSc, PhD or MD) or equivalent

  • At least 10 years’ experience within the pharmaceutical industry (understanding of the scientific and business aspects); thereof at least 5 years in Global Development

  • Strong knowledge of R&D process and regulatory environment

  • Demonstrated experience in working in an international, multidisciplinary environment

  • Min. 2 years’ experience in leading a cross-functional project team in Life Cycle Management

  • Well-developed project management, communication, problem solving, and presentation skills

  • Strong people management and leadership skills, demonstrated success in fostering collaborative solutions

  • Strong strategic planning and priority setting capabilities, ability to initiate, develop, and implement changes

  • Demonstrated ability to understand, influence and work independently and effectively in cross-functional teams and matrix organizations

  • Fluent in English (German and French an advantage)
