Opening and closing of relationships, classification of business relationships & AML monitoring, prospects analysis:



  • Day-to-day compliance activities and monitoring including compliance inspections, review and upkeep of compliance-related manuals, routine compliance checks; 

  • Perform checks on account opening application documents for completeness and accuracy;

  • Liaise with Front Office on outstanding issues relating to documentation and KYC;

  • Perform enhanced due diligence on PEP, risk countries, risk sectors and other higher risk categories. Provide recommendation for account acceptance or rejection;

  • Maintain proper file and documentation for audit and inspection;

  • Perform an investigation on accounts or relationships where there are real or potential AML risks;

  • Liaison with Front Office in relation to transaction;

  • Perform an investigation on accounts or relationships where there are real or potential AML risks or at the request of the Head of Compliance;

  • Liaise with Front Office in relation to transaction monitoring to ensure that AML risks are mitigated/co-ordinate with the respective RMs;

  • Escalate suspicious transactions/accounts and conducting follow-up investigations;

  • Prepare mailing;

  • Conduct periodic reviews.


Update according to national and international law, regulation and court rulings:



  • Advise the HoC on changes and developments relating to legal environment and propose HoC appropriate and up-to-date compliance arrangements to be put in place e.g. in the internal guidelines, account opening forms, disclaimers, agreements, satisfying applicable legal, regulatory and internal requirements;


Reporting, statistics and escalation of compliance issues to the HoC;
Specific issues on a case-by-case basis e.g.:



  • Legal authorities inquiries;

  • Litigations/new clients’ claims;

  • Staff training (e.g. code of conduct, AML, cross border);

  • Agreements review;

  • Assistance to the Corporate Advisory and Structuring and Asset Services teams in the context of prospects’ analysis.
     

Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 2 years banking experience in a similar position;

  • Good knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory trends;

  • Law or economics degree;

  • Strong research, writing and analytical skills;

  • Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and set own priorities;

  • Ability to work collaboratively and across services;

  • Ability to multi-task and execute tasks with a sense of urgency with the ultimate goal being to deliver on tasks in a crisp and timely manner;

  • Fluent in English and French, another language would be valuable and at least school level in German;

  • Good ability to working with MS Office tool;

  • Swiss domiciliation.
