Today, the BIS Library provides integrated, digital library and discovery services to an international organisation of 600+ staff members over three different locations.  We are recruiting a Librarian to work in a small, dedicated team serving a varied international user community based in Basel, Hong Kong SAR and Mexico. You will drive innovation in discovery services and digital information delivery through developing and implementing innovative digital library and information management and shared research resources .You will manage the library budget in a cost-effective manner and will maintain the library collections (both electronic and physical).  Your key responsibilities: 
 

  • Provide efficient library/research services in response to user requests/needs

  • Lead implementation of cloud-based library catalogue solution and mobile discovery services and information delivery

  • Perform Library awareness and outreach activities (including user training)

  • Perform administrative and budget functions supporting the Library

  • Perform information cataloguing and collection management (digital and physical)

 Your qualifications, skills and experience:
 

  • University degree in library and/or information management sciences

  • At least five years’ job experience in a leading library function, with a strong digital service delivery focus

  • Proven experience working with and implementing web- and cloud-based library applications, including integrated library catalogue systems and discovery services, as well as information delivery and collaboration tools

  • Good understanding of, and keen interest in, economics, banking and international finance

  • Proficiency in English;  Knowledge of German, French and/or Spanish is an advantage
