My client is an international company in the Blockchain industry with a newly established office in Zug. On their behalf I am looking for a selfstarter as a 

Quant/Junior Researcher

In this newly created function you will report to the Chief Scientist and will take care of the following duties:

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Initiation of preliminary and reference tests to understand observations and share results


• Testing of trade algorithms according to the proposed methods


• Conduct resource-oriented research


• Apply basic statistical analysis and machine learning knowledge to manipulate large data sets


• Extract factors from unstructured data sets (big plus)


• Conduct literature review


• Maintaining the latest knowledge on all current methods of experimentation in the field of given project tasks


• Contribute to the overall success of a given project by performing all other tasks as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative research-centred discipline or Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Engineering, Data Science plus 1-2 years of working experience


• Training in research tools and techniques is advantageous


• Desirable basic experience of applying statistical methods to a large amount of data


• Ability to recognise how to convert raw results into practical numbers and figures


• Some practical experience in coding in any of the Python, R, Rust, Java, C ++ or similar languages


• Open attitude towards cryptography and the role it plays in the future of financial markets


• Any experience working in data driven environment and SQL/NoSQL/graph databases/datasets


• Strong work ethic and analytical thinking


• Understanding of financial markets, basic investment modelling techniques, market products and trading concepts is a plus


• A valid work permit for Switzerland
