The Decision Science Laboratory (DeSciL) is hosted by the ETH Department of Humanities, Social and Political Science; its focus is on supporting ETH researchers in conducting human subject trials and data collection in the laboratory, in the field, and online. DeSciL is currently seeking to appoint an associate director.
Job description
You will automate laboratory processes, assist the maintenance of the laboratory infrastructure, work on the development of scientific research software and assist researchers in deploying the software in the laboratory, in the field, and in online environments. You will also be a deputy to the director of the lab and learn all administrative processes required to run a human subject lab.
The position will initially be a temporary basis (due to third-party funding) at the end of which you will be considered for a permanent position.
Your profile
The ideal candidate should have a degree in computer science, engineering, or a social science (economics, political science, psychology, sociology) and preferably collected 1-2 years of work experience in the field. The candidate must be able to demonstrate software engineering skills and experience working with C# (.NET), Python (Django), web technologies (JavaScript, Html, CSS), Git, and scripting in PowerShell. MS Windows-based system-level knowledge is desirable. Previous experience in statistical analysis and tools (R / Stata) is a plus. You speak and write English fluently.
