About the position
The Swiss Arbitration Academy (SAA) is a private institution founded and directed by a group of arbitration practitioners, including attorneys and professors, to provide professional and practical training in arbitration. The SAA offers postgraduate degrees in association with the University of Lucerne and the University of Neuchâtel. The Director of Studies will be in charge of overseeing the various activities, including overseeing the logistics of the courses and the development of course materials.
Core responsibilities
Coordinate day-to-day activities of the SAA and the Universities, liaising closely with the SAA Academic Council.
Oversee the logistics of "hybrid" courses and other events of the SAA and the Universities.
Give support to the module leaders and organize course materials.
Prepare certificates and official documents.
Coordinate with the responsible person for marketing.
Assist the examination process and the publications of papers and articles.
Candidate's profile / Required qualifications
University degree in law.
Experience in the field of arbitration (e.g. Vis Moot, internships, academic courses).
Excellent communication skills. Excellent ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a changing environment.
Command of both spoken and written English. Fluency in German and further language skills are a plus.
Basic experience in project management, including strong interpersonal, networking and coordination skills.
Excellent organizational skills (planning and strategizing goals towards problem solving).
Aptitude to use new IT solutions (e.g. Zoom, Cloud services, etc.).
The director of studies will be employed by the University of Lucerne, and compensated according to its standards.
