Job Description

In our multi-year Finance Transformation project called ATLAS, we are looking for an SAP application responsible for the Financial Products Subleger, which we developed in a Co-innovation project with SAP.

You will design and maintain the SAP FPSL implementation standards and patterns and the coordination of the application maintenance and upgrade activities will be in your responsibility. Besides the purely technical aspects, you will work closely together with business analysts to find solutions tailor to the technology stack and be an active part of the specification and its implementation.

Our goal is to connect Swiss Re's up- and downstream systems with the SAP standard product (FPSL) using cloud-native components all running in MS Azure. We are working in an agile project setup (12 -14 squads) and the introduction of DevOps principles has a high priority.

Main tasks/activities

• Drive the optimization of the infrastructure and software of the SAP technology stack including testing of system qualities like performance


• Creation and maintenance of SAP FPSL implementation standards


• Maintenance of SwissRe's SAP Financial Product Subledger system instances from an application perspective


• Plan and co-ordinate application software upgrades


• Provide guidance to system and business analysts how to optimize their FPSL implementations


• Contribute with to the gathering of customer requirements, preparing specifications and customizing solutions


• Support of system integration tests and UATs


• Cooperating with finance colleagues and power users around the Globe


• 3rd level Operations support on critical incidents requiring expert knowledge


• Ensure compliance with the company wide digital governance framework, audit


• Documentation of all of the above (readme, wiki and JIRA)

Must have skills 

• At least 5 years of SAP FI (New GL, AP, AR, AA, Banking) and CO experience in customizing and testing within a minimum of 3 global full cycle implementations


• Solid knowledge of the Financials Products Subledger (FPSL) or any of its predecessors within a minimum of one full cycle implementations


• Solid understanding of Accounting, Controlling and Banking processes, preferably in the re-/insurance or broader financial sector environment


• Hands-on eexperience as system analyst in the development of technical specifications, data modeling


• ABAP Programming and HANA modeling (HANA Calculation & CDS views and AMDP programming) skills


• Experience with S/4 HANA and Fiori


• Conceptual and analytical thinking, and a structured way of working and an ability to get things done


• Strong client relationship skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively


• Fluency in English (speaking, writing)


• Proven knowledge and practical application of Agile/ Scrum methodology
