Your mission :
The Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland is offering a position as laboratory technician to support the team in their scientific endeavor. The research focus of the group is related to the emergence of infectious agents, bacterial community structures, and the spread of antimicrobial resistances. Main duties and responsibilities include :
Technical support of scientific projects.
Implementation of biological experiments upon instructions.
Ability to work in a team.
Contribute to the training of junior group members.
Participation in duties for the maintenance of the laboratory.
Report to scientific lab members and lab head.
Your profile :
Diploma of a lab technician school, Ecole cantonale de laborant/e or equivalent.
Detail-oriented and highly motivated with a can-do attitude.
At least 3 years of experience as laboratory technician in research.
Sterile working techniques and good microbiological skills are required.
Expertise in molecular biology (nucleic acid isolations, PCR, cloning, qRT-PCR).
Openness to learn and develop new techniques and protocols.
Excellent record keeping, experimental documentation, and organizational skills.
Certified and able to work with in vivo models (rodents).
Language requirement: English and French.
