You will take the lead on local business-related environment activities and thanks to your in-depth knowledge you will advise the business and provide solutions for a variety of challenges. Your responsibilities

• Take responsibility as Motion Switzerland Business Environment expert and dangerous goods advisor


• Support operational units in environmental legal compliance and management system


• Support business R&D departments in relevant environmental aspects related to activities, products and services


• Support supply chain management in relevant environmental aspects related to procurement parts and services


• Ensure compliance according to ISO 14001 and energy management aligned to ISO 50001


• Lead ABB Switzerland community of environmental-, sustainability – and hazardous goods experts


• Be responsible for sustainability agreements with Swiss Government authorities (EnAW, BFE etc.)


• Identify changes in legal and other requirements and propose improvement steps to the environmental officer community of ABB Switzerland


• Contribute to effective risk management of environmental-related risks and opportunities, including binding commitments and agreements


• Ensure area of responsibility is audited according to audit program, perform audits to identify potential shortcomings


• Ensure and align level-based training modules to achieve environmental targets


• Ensure the definition and monitoring of the annual targets and programs


• Drive behavioral change, the implementation of best practice and continuously improve our management system “The ABB Way” and approach


• Dangerous goods advisor according to GGBV and in waste management (environmentally sound disposal, recycling, VVEA, VeVA)


• Represent ABB in expert associations

Your background

• University degree or comparable education with technical background


• Education in environmental affairs and sustainability


• Dangerous goods advisor according to GGBV


• Occupational health, safety education would be beneficial


• Proven leadership experience in an international business environment, leading, coaching and developing intercultural teams


• Experienced Internal Auditor ISO 14001 is a MUST, ISO45001 and ISO 9001 are a plus


• Strong communicator with the ability to adjust communication to all levels within an organization


• Ability to deal with complexity, stress and ambiguity


• Proactive, practical and systematic way of working and acting


• Fluent in German (C1) and in English (C1)
