Job Description


Please Note: This role will start in Zurich and relocate to Boston, USA by 1st Jan 2022. Further information is available on this.


OBJECTIVES :



  • Central point within CMO Project Management Office to support financial budgeting, forecasting and analysis

  • Coordinates and disseminates requests and information from R&D Finance

  • Provides budget analysis of planned vs actual

  • Supports franchises in financial reviews


ACCOUNTABILITIES



  • Serves as the central point within CMO Project Management Office to support financial budgeting, forecasting and analysis

  • Coordinate and provide financial data (i.e. accruals) in relation to month-end, quarter-end and year-end close to R&D Finance

  • Prepare summary analysis to understand costs for strategic projects

  • Perform on-going variance analysis to provide explanations of variance actuals to budget/forecast

  • Generate monthly reporting packs to be utilized for financial management, including variance explanations, forecast updates, scenario building and other analysis

  • Analyze key performance indicators optimally to improve business performance

  • Attend Budget Working Group Meetings as requested

  • Supports PMO PMs in financial reviews

  • Identify opportunities to drive improvement in the areas of accruals, analysis and reporting by leveraging systems and other resources

  • Partners with R&D Finance Lead and Group Lead PMO Operations to develop and maintain various financial templates / reports

  • Supports the FP&A activities; partners with the Group Lead PMO Operations to provide insights and establish, implement, and contribute to the achievement of objectives

  • Interprets and applies corporate financial policies and GAAP


EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:



  • Bachelor’s Degree (Finance or Accounting preferred)

  • Four+ years of pharmaceutical finance experience

  • Effective interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to build positive cross-functional business relationships

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; willingness to accept responsibility for projects/processes and ability to work with limited direct supervision

  • Self-starter with a proven ability to be successful in an intense, entrepreneurial environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent computer skills are essential, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task are essential

  • Detail oriented, organized, analytical, dependable & flexible

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliant control environments would be advantageous


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION



  • May travel to the US, EU and Japan offices and other meeting locations internationally.Approximately 10% travel is required.
