Job Overview:

Our Flow Cytometry Laboratory is looking to recruit an Operations Technical Lead tp join the team in Geneva. This is a new role required due to the increased complexity of Flow operations and new assay validations. In this position you will act as liaison between science and operations in order to translate the science for the lab team for greatest compliance and efficiency.

The main responsabilities are:

Validation SME

• Validation SME responsible to translate science of complex Assay Transfers to operations


• Point of contact of operations with BWD and scientific validation teams


• Review of AT with BWD and scientists in order to catch any operational challenges, review the SOP, provide feedback to validation teams in order to address and correct any points that need further clarity before assay in production


• Organize the wet lab with success at the bench


• Prompt follow up of the course of AT until signature completion


• Organize in prompt manner any repeats with the shortest delay possible

Instrument Setup and troubleshooting

• Instrument SME for initial and recurrent instrument set up process ensuring good planning and compliance for instrument function


• Being autonomous and knowledgeable providing support and guidelines to the team


• Train and develop more SMEs


• Owner of all instrument related processes like compensation, baselines, PM etc…


• Demonstrates thorough working knowledge of instruments/equipment in the department.


• Able to provide troubleshooting guidance to staff to resolve complex instrument and equipment problems. Works with the vendor where needed to resolve instrument/ equipment related problems and summarize results of investigations.


• Coordinates the timely development and completion of training materials and checklists.


• Initiates revisions to SOPs or writes new SOPs to reflect current processes that ensure compliance. Coordinates with other departments and other sites to ensure timely completion of SOP. Resolves obstacles, where needed.


• Responsible for coordinating with other resources to ensure timely completion and implementation of new assay validations.


• Able to analyze existing processes and create new approaches or ideas to improve. Works with internal/external department to ensure successful implementation of changes /improvements

Education/Qualifications:

• Medical Technologist (CFC holder) OR


• Pharmaceutical Biology Technologist (CFC holder) OR


• Medical Technologist (Swiss State School of Medical Technologist Degree holder) OR


• Medical Technologist (BTS, DUT, IUT Degree holder) OR


• Foreign Medical Technologist Degree holder with equivalency statement from Swiss Red Cross

Preferred profile of scientific background Bachelor’s with Master’s degree in biological sciences with minimum 2 years of Flow Cytometry experience.

Experience:

• Medical technologist with strong and significant experience in Flow Cytometry >5 year


• Any Flow Cytometry Certification is desired


• Advanced level ofEnglish is required with oral and written skills
