(Senior) Workflow Manager Industry (f/m/d)

Today, Leica’s Applied Business is serving customers in almost any Industrial & Health & Life Science vertical with imaging and measurement solutions for organic and inorganic samples. The value for the customer is created by delivering new insights and discoveries orby providing insights in a more efficient manner. In order to realize our product strategy and digital solutions we are establishing a dedicated function within our Product Management which will allow us to get closer to our customers to understand their workflows and needs and translate them into future products.


In this newly created function, the (Senior) Workflow Manager Industry (f/m/d) will be responsible for further development of customer intimacy in Industrial Metrology and QC workflows. Customers are seeking for reliable and automatic answers & results from their routine samples. Metrology is spreading from 2D/3D Surface Measurement to Material Analyses and Customers are seeking for reliable and automatic answers & results from their routine samples in quality assurance. QC is spreading from Incoming inspection through process/production control steps and outgoing inspection. Through interaction with customers, industry activities and our sales organizations, the role is expected to capture in-depth insights of customers workflows and translate these insights into a roadmap of innovations that drive the growth of the business. 


The position is part of the Applied Workflow Management team and will report to Director Applied Application/Workflow. Position will be located at our Technology Center in Heerbrugg, CH.


Your areas of responsibility include:


Strategy



  • Support the identification of attractive markets/segments in alignment with the Business Unit strategy & growth plan

  • Integrate market, customer and application trends into an application/workflow roadmap that drives innovation as well as sustainable differentiation and growth.

  • Long-term business results


Innovation



  • Build strong collaboration networks to tap into application/workflow trends.

  • Support the objective analysis of potential market opportunities. Understand opportunities in defined market segments and translate into application/workflow roadmaps.

  • Support Product Development with deep application/workflow knowledge

  • Execute Voice of Customers activities in coordination with the team to understand and validate customer insights

  • Define and create workflows in the defined segments to support product development, product portfolio, roadmap and requirement definition

  • Responsible for realization of customer workflow in new product developments

  • Innovation funnel against targets

  • Global revenue achievement of New Product Introduction


Growth execution



  • Execute assigned launch activities of workflow products

  • Collaboration with and indirect management of indirect sales channel partners

  • Support campaigns and marketing activities with application/workflow specific content.

  • Meet business growth and profitability

  • Funnel growth & conversion rate


Sales Support



  • Deliver workflow trainings in coordination with BE and PM teams

  • Support strategic sales opportunities with application/workflow support (2nd level)

  • Win Rates and Sales Competency Increase


What we expect form you: 



  • At least a Master’s degree or a PhD in the area of Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering or Medical Technology

  • 3 or more years of working experience in one or more fields of Surface Metrology, Material Analyses, Material Research, Quality Control in Industrial or Medical Device segments

  • 3 or more years of professional experience with Industry Workflows, preferable as Workflow Specialist or similar

  • Knowledge and experience in the area of surface metrology and methods such as confocal, interferometry, focus variation, LIBS

  • Applicable knowledge of regulations and standards of Technical Cleanliness such as ISO 16232/VDA

  • Experience in dealing (or leading) indirect sales teams in industrial segments

  • Deep market knowledge, preferably in North America and/or Europe

  • Experience with the tools of the marketing of complex capital goods, experience with sales-related tasks and projects

  • Solid knowledge of Kaizen tools and problem-solving techniques           

  • Very good analytical and strategic skills

  • Excellent presentation and training skills

  • Excellent communication and team skills

  • English fluent in word and writing

  • Global Travel of ~30%
