JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT


The Trade and Capital Markets Senior Credit Analyst will manage credit risk for corporates, banks, farmers and sovereigns for Cargill’s Trade and Capital Market business in the region by developing a holistic view of risks on counterparties and products as well as focused and timely execution. This role offers both business and fiduciary insights into the business risks of Cargill’s Trade and Capital Markets in the region. 


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES




  • Conduct financial statement analysis of counterparties including cashflow forecasting, ensuring high quality and unbiased credit reviews including assigning ratings through qualitative and quantitative analysis and provide clearly argued conclusions and limit recommendations.

  • Ability to cover various industries and geographies as well as willingness to acquire necessary industry insights and knowledge independently.

  • Monitor counterparties and anticipate the potential impact of market events on business environment for specific counterparties or portfolios. 

  • Partner with origination to ensure high quality of due diligence on counterparties, provide feedback on potential business opportunities and respond to queries from internal stakeholders.

  • Partner with structuring to develop a deep understanding of Trade and Capital Markets structures and provide objective risk related inputs on products as well as recommend opportunities for risk mitigation and loss prevention.

  • Maintain close communication with transaction management to ensure adequate implementation of risk mitigation and ensure accurate reporting of exposures within approved limits.

  • Communicate with external counterparties including Trade and Capital Markets clients, participation in ad-hoc projects and actively look for ideas to improve existing processes and methodologies.

  • You will work under minimal supervision and independently handle complex issues while referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of four years corporate analysis experience.

  • Other minimum qualifications may apply.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree.

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience including in the high yield space in the financial services industry with international exposure.

  • Fluency in English.

  • Bank / Sovereign Analysis experience.

  • Project Finance experience.

  • Workout / Management of problem exposures experience.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to ask timely, relevant, and informed questions about transactions, structures, relationships and risks.

  • Precise and detail oriented with the ability to take initiative, work independently and handle multiple demands.

  • Perform well under pressure, ability to prioritize and adapt to an ever-changing environment.

  • A self-starting, pro-active attitude.

  • Ability to travel.
