As a leading university hospital with a rich tradition, the Inselspital is part of the Insel Group and is a centre of medical expertise and high technology with an international reputation as well as being a first-class training and research centre.


We are a team of cardiovascular researchers from the Inselspital and the University of Bern combining our expertise to unravel consequences of SARS-CoV-2 mediated inflammatory immune responses in heart and vasculature.

The challenge We search a highly motivated Post Doc Candidate to engage in our SNSF funded National Research Program 78 on COVID-19 (data.snf.ch/covid-19/snsf/198297) "CoVasc: Unravelling consequences of SARS-CoV-2 mediated inflammatory immune responses in heart and vasculature".

SARS-CoV-2 mediated cardiovascular complications are important in COVID-19 pathophysiology and need to be understood in more detail. We are a team of cardiovascular researchers from the University of Bern combining our expertise to unravel consequences of SARS-CoV-2 mediated inflammatory immune responses in heart and vasculature.



Project 4:

Investigating SARS-CoV-2 mediated long-term consequences of vascular functions and cell specific effects of ACE2 in mouse models of cardiovascular disease

Prof. Yvonne Döring, Coordination, www.cvrc.unibe.ch/research/angiology/ Your profile Candidates should hold a PhD in immunology, vascular biology or biomedical research and ideally have experience with mouse models and viral pathogens at biological safety level 2 or 3 and 'omics' techniques (e.g. RNAseq). Motivation to pursue team-oriented research and English language skills are essential. The package The position is available from 01.11.2020 and limited to two years. We offer a stimulating, cooperative, and supportive environment and close collaborations between the groups and international research teams. Groups are within the Medical Faculty of the University of Bern, embedded in the Cardiovascular Research Cluster that includes several groups working at the University of Bern and the Bern University Hospital.
