Abbott Established Pharmaceutical Division is looking for

Global Business Excellence Statistician

to be based in Basel - Switzerland

In this role you will Improve data management for respective processes within Quality, Manufacturing, Maintenance and other area sand lead and support Lean Six Sigma Initiatives for local and regional Business Excellence functions.

You will also design, train on and implement advanced data analytics projects in Operations and conduct improvement studies for specification setting and specification changes. Last but not least you are in charge of the designs and implementation of capability building at the regional and global level

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Executes data management of characterization, verification, and validation studies


• Provides statistical expertise for R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and Manufacturing sites


• Develops, provides and supports capability building on statistics within the network


• Supports general aspects for Statistical Process Control


• Supports Specification setting and specification changes based on statistical evaluations


• Supports Evaluation of characterization, verification, and validation studies


• Instrument reliability studies and product stability studies


• Supports the development of KPI’s, their measurement and the maintenance of their data collection

Position Accountability/Scope:

• Accountable for developing and providing capability building on statistics within the network in collaboration with sites and regions


• Accountable for developing and implementing the advanced data analytics strategy for Operations in collaboration with other EPD functions (e.g. IT, Strategy etc.)

Experience/Training Required:

• Mathematical, Statistical, Engineer Degree (Bachelor), or comparable education



• Min. 4-5 years of relevant experience in a comparable role




• Operations and Manufacturing experience is strongly requested, Pharma Industry would be a nice to have experience




• Willingness to travel 50% globally



• Excellent English skills (oral and writing)


• Good programming skills


• Knowledge on statistical exploration software (i.e. R, SAS JMP, MiniTab, SSPS or respective) would be desirable


• Good understanding of processes and communication skills to work and engage with other functions
