Base: Zurich 

Starting date: ASAP - Upon mutual agreement

The Deputy Maintenance Manager is responsible for the control and management of all line maintenance services are performed in accordance with the Helvetic Airways` MOE and its procedures, Engineering and Quality related instructions, manufacturer`s instruction and aviation regulations. The Deputy Maintenance Manager is a member of helvetic’s Operations Management.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Management and control of maintenance staff to ensure that all unscheduled and scheduled maintenance tasks are carried out in a timely manner and in accordance with applicable maintenance standards and process


• To manage, monitor and assess maintenance staff with respect to their understanding and performance functions


• To direct and manage all line maintenance staff to ensure that all clearly understand their responsibilities regarding the following order of maintenance priority:


• airworthiness of the aircraft offered for service


• on time technical dispatch reliability


• cost effectiveness of the maintenance action


• completion of company documentation including the Aircraft Technical Log and work package administration


• To ensure that AMOS is used correctly by the maintenance staff and that information is correctly recorded


• To manage and ensure that all maintenance staff (both temporary and permanent) receive adequate initial and recurrent training and in accordance with 3.4 of this MOE


• To manage the training and application for company release to service authorisations


• To manage Health and Safety policies and practices for line maintenance, to ensure compliance with legal requirements, and, to improve the safe working environments for all line staff


• To review and develop training policies and activities in conjunction with Compliance Monitoring Manager Part 145 in order to satisfy the requirement for:


• The issue of maintenance authorisations


• Aircraft type training


• Aircraft maintenance training, for example maintenance engine ground running


• To promote and comply with technical procedures


• Health and Safety policy


• Supervisory training


• To manage the department effectively that all line certification and associated paperwork is satisfactorily completed in accordance with the requirement of Part 145.A.55 and that Company Procedures are followed in accordance with the requirement of Part 145.A.65


• Reviewing the line maintenance departement on a continuous basis and making recommendations to higher management on changes necessary to improve standards of cost effectivness


• To ensure that the customer`s aircraft meet the highest comliance monitoring standards with attention to outstanding deferred defects


• To ensure the company`s compliance monitoring system and procedures are complied with and that noted discrepancies are promptly rectified, this supporting Part 145.A.65 compliance monitoring


• Responsible to ensure that all tasks are performed in accordance with Helvetic Airways` MOE and its procedures, Engineering- and Quality related instructions, manufacturer`s instruction and aviation regulations

Candidates must have

• Already worked in a similar position and be acceptable to hold a form 4 positions by the regulatory authority


• Technical Knowledge in Aviation


• Self initiative and the ability to work unsupervised


• Proficient computer skills (MS Office)


• Fluent written and spoken in English (German is benefical)


• A high sense of responsibility


• Reliable with a systematic way of working


• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure


• Airline industry affinity


• AMOS knowledge is beneficial


• Residence and geographical focus in Switzerland
