Overview AC Immune is a clinical-stage Swiss Biotech Company specialized in
the development of innovative therapies against Alzheimer’s disease
and other neurodegenerative diseases. We are seeking a highly
qualified Neuroimmunologist to support the company’s efforts in
research and development. The candidate must possess scientific
background in cellular and molecular biology focussing on
neuroinflammation preferably in Alzheimer’s disease or related
neurodegenerative disorders. He/she must have demonstrated ability
to make significant discoveries in an academic/industrial setting as
proven by publications in high impact journals and/or bringing a
research product close to the marketplace.
Job description



  • Development and validation of cellular assays of neuro-immune
    interactions to assess the activity of small molecules or biologicals
    with output measures relevant to pro- and anti-inflammatory events

  • Design and coordination of animal studies in models of
    neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation

  • Hands-on research support for the biology teams

  • Oversight of one or more laboratory technicians

  • Creating working instructions and standard operating procedures

  • Ensuring regulatory compliance in data documentation

  • Data presentation at international scientific conferences

  • Writing of internal reports and scientific publications


Qualifications The candidate should have the following qualifications:



  • PhD training in neuroscience, immunology, biochemistry, molecular
    biology or similar discipline

  • Minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral experience in the field of
    neuroimmunology, previous experience in biopharmaceutical
    industry is an advantage

  • Hands-on experiences with animal models of
    neurodegeneration/neuroinflammation

  • Proficient in immunohistochemical and biochemical analysis of
    human and animal-derived tissue

  • Experience with discovery and development of small molecules
    and/or biologicals is an advantage

  • Demonstrated track record of development and validation of
    screening assays

  • Strong expertise in cellular and molecular biology

  • Excellent capabilities in work organization and data documentation

  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, problem-solver, analytical and
    planning skills and open and pro-active attitude

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
    Excellent oral and written skills in English are a must
