We are recruiting a


Medical Science Liaison Oncology (MSL) – focus hematology 100%


The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) works as a scientific expert in the field with a specific focus on engaging in high-level scientific exchange, on building and maintaining peer-to peer relationship with external experts and on understanding and uncovering unmet medical needs and on generating relevant insights. He/she works as part of a cross-functional team and reports into the Medical Affairs Lead for oncology.


Your main tasks



  • Build and maintain peer level relationship with key external experts to support

  • understanding of the Swiss market & clinical dynamics and to engage with the medical / scientific community in a highly credible, balanced and objective manner, representing AstraZeneca’s dedication to and excellence in science

  • Close collaboration with the brand team as medical-scientific expert in hematology

  • Organisation and execution of scientific events such as symposia, other educational initiatives for healthcare professionals

  • Organisation of and participation at (regional) advisory board meetings

  • Presentation of medical and scientific information at internal meetings including education of sales force and other AZ employees in your therapeutic area

  • Support of the brand team for various medical and scientific projects across the lifecycle of the brands in your therapeutic areas

  • Build and maintain expertise in your therapeutic area by continuous education and by participation in national and international congresses and AstraZeneca events

  • Support AstraZeneca clinical research program and externally sponsored research projects as needed and as appropriate

  • Support of the MIPS-Team (Medical Information / Patient Safety) in handling of external medical and scientific requests

  • Ensure compliance with all local regulatory requirements and AstraZeneca Local and Global Policies and Guidelines


Your Profile



  • Qualified Doctor and/or advanced degree(s) (e.g., PhD, PharmD) in a health or biomedical field

  • Experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry, preferentially as MSL or within Medical Affairs in one of the therapeutic areas mentioned above, oncology/hematology would be a clear plus; experience within Clinical research will also be considered

  • High-level of scientific knowledge and ability to analyse and process clinical and scientific data

  • Experience in liaising with healthcare professionals

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including communicating complex technical, scientific, or medical information to broad audience types

  • Thorough knowledge of the local regulatory requirements related to medical affairs activities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as in a cross-functional team

  • Project management experience is a plus

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and German is mandatory, good knowledge of French is a plus
