The Centre for Digital Health Interventions (CDHI, www.c4dhi.org) is affiliated with the Department of Management, Technology and Economics at ETH Zürich and the Institute of Technology Management at the University of St.Gallen. We have a strong focus on digital biomarker and conversational agent (chatbot) research for the prevention and management of chronic conditions and mental illness. Our interdisciplinary team of computer and social scientists partners with medical experts and aims to design smartphone-based, scalable, effective, just-in-time adaptive interventions targeting vulnerable individuals in their everyday lives. We publish our work in scientific outlets and as open-source software. Provided there are no legal, ethical or copyright barriers, data from our (clinical) trials is also made available in open scientific databases for replication purposes and to allow the application of new data analytical approaches by academia and industry in the future.


Job description


To strengthen our centre activities at ETH Zurich and, therefore, to increase our scientific, educational and societal impact, we are looking for an Executive Director who is interested in supporting us in the following tasks:



  1. Develop and manage executive education (with a special focus on the novel Certificate of Advanced Studies in Digital Health).

  2. Develop and implement a communication concept.

  3. Develop and manage guest lectures and team meetings.

  4. Develop, implement, and evaluate progress toward CDHI objectives.

  5. Develop periodic reports for internal purposes (e.g. budget forecasts) and external audiences (e.g. yearly report on Digital Health activities at CDHI).

  6. Work with colleagues to prepare grants to secure funding.

  7. Administer budget and authorize expenditures.

  8. Prepare and submit reports to funders as required.

  9. Collaborate with faculty and other stakeholders regarding the development and general operation of the CDHI.


Your profile


We are looking for individuals that meet the following key qualifications:



  • You have a university degree in technology and health sciences, technology marketing, public health, health economics, health psychology or computer science

  • You have solid communication, presentation and project management skills 

  • You are looking for a sustainable and meaningful job to support healthcare systems, healthcare workers, and individuals in need, i.e. to use scalable technology to prevent or better manage the global burden of chronic conditions and mental illness

  • You are proactive and you show personal responsibility, initiative and enjoy technology and interdisciplinary teamwork

  • You can work autonomously and with a self-starter attitude

  • You are fluent in English, basic German language skills are recommended
