About the Role
For this fascinating role, at Swiss Re's headquarters in Zurich, we look for a highly motivated and experienced claims expert for our Property & Casualty claims portfolios to cover the markets Turkey, Greece and Malta within our team Switzerland, Netherlands, Iberia, Medi and Globals as part of P&C Business Management Western & Southern Europe. Business Management more specifically comprises of Claims Management, the In-force Management team as well as the relevant Technical Accounting/Claims Operations and Reserving teams.  
 


This multi-faceted and most interesting role mainly encompasses the following activities:



  • Analyze and assess high-profile claims from a quantum, as well as liability standpoint, reviewing presentations from an original policy as well reinsurance angle. Drive the development of these claims as well as portfolios under responsibility.

  • Manage claims in line with defined processes & guidelines (which involves working with IT systems).

  • Develop representation in market bodies and expand network of industry contacts respectively, i.e. clients, attorneys, adjusters, surveyors. Promote SR's technical claims expertise and profile in the markets, specifically to Key Clients.

  • Contribute to thought-leading internal networks to ultimately create client impact.

  • Maintain and foster client relationships in markets under responsibility in line with the principles of right service for the right clients.

  • Monitor and report on legal developments as well as other relevant changes in the portfolios under your responsibility.

  • Become an active member of the cross-functional market teams (XFT), supporting client marketers and market underwriters with your insights, actively shaping deliverables and market strategy.

  • Look to assist in developing and selling solutions for the insurance markets.

  • Support financial transactions with clients and third parties.

  • Plan and conduct claims reviews & audits, overseeing and/or assisting clients in any remedial actions to improve claims standards.

  • Engage in special tasks and projects as required.


 


About the Team
This is a great opportunity for you to be part of our team of experienced claims handlers with truly diversified professional backgrounds and nationalities. You will work closely together with our Business Management colleagues across different European locations as well as with Client Markets, Underwriting, Transactions and Solutions teams and other stakeholders.
 


About You



  • Successfully completed university degree and/or vocational training in insurance/loss adjusting. Legal qualification preferred.

  • Proven track record of strong reinsurance and/or direct claims handling experience in Property & Casualty Lines of Business desirable.

  • Experience in the primary insurance industry is a plus.

  • Reinsurance knowledge/strong motivation to learn about reinsurance.

  • Enhanced numeric literacy/analytical skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; additional language skills, especially Turkish and/or Greek are advantageous.

  • Engaging personality living the senior role by setting an example in respect of commercial mindset, client centricity and knowledge sharing.

  • Self-driven entrepreneurial personality with an abundance of energy and a high level of resilience.
