u-blox, as a leading provider of timing and synchronization technology for mobile networks and other critical infrastructure, continues to expand its efforts in this important field with an increased focus on new challenges such as time transfer precision and security. These new challenges are driven by never-ending evolution of mobile networks which pushes for tighter synchronization requirements, while at the same time starting to take seriously threats associated with relying on relatively weak satellite signals.

We are looking for enthusiastic developer with a genuine interest in time transfer technology. Can be newly graduated or with a few years of experience. The candidate should be a quick learner, enthusiastic about technology, hands-on and eager to contribute in building our new timing products.

 

Your Responsibilities

    - Analyze and define specifications for new components and features (research part)

    - Define, develop, test, document and release software components/products related to timing and synchronization (development part)

    - Follow software life-cycle process procedures and use appropriate tools

    - Providing analysis and workarounds or fixes for bugs and nonconformities

    - Clear and concise documentation of work

    - Learn, improve and grow

 

Your Skills and Experience

   - M.Sc. or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer science, communication systems, or equivalent education/work experience

    - Knowledge in software development and debugging techniques

    - Real Time Operating Systems knowledge preferred

    - Strong documentation and communication skills

    - Familiar with version controlling systems (git, SVN) and integrated development environments (Eclipse IDE, or similar).

    - Team player with the ability to work independently within broader project teams

    - Fluent in English

 

Bonus Points

    - Knowledge of time transfer/GNSS technology, navigation algorithms

    - Hands-on experience in embedded systems development

    - Perl, Python, Matlab or similar scripting languages

    - Hands-on with lab equipment: counters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, soldering

    - Experience in test-driven design and continuous integration

    - Familiar with Requirements Management tools (e.g. Jama or Doors)
