In the course of our strategic corporate development and Data Management & Analytics initiative, we are looking for a committed and talented Ontologist/ Data Modeler (f/m), who is passionate about designing, developing and curating ontologies / conceptual data models and support ontology-based data & analytics services. Together in a young, highly motivated team and in cooperation with internal and external partners, you will help to build the promising data infrastructure and knowledge base for intelligent data and information management, reporting services and AI solutions based on LGTs Enterprise Knowledge Graph (EKG).

In this role you have the opportunity to work 100% in Bendern or 80% in Bendern and 20% in Zurich.

In this responsible position, you will take on the following activities:

• Design, curate and deploy ontologies for LGTs Enterprise Knowledge Graph


• Fluently translate natural language and business wording into precise, complex knowledge representations


• Work with Subject Matter Experts, Data Scientists, Data & IT Architects, DataOps Engineers and Software Engineers to architect, design, develop, implement and deploy ontology-centric / graph-based systems within the realm of private banking and asset management covering ontologies, reasoning engines, REST service oriented architecture, ontology-driven UI and semantic middleware to integrate with legacy environments


• Deploy ontologies, taxonomies, models and other structures to identify and fill knowledge gaps in the representation of firm assets, products, services, relations, and processes


• Arbitrate and summarize disparate views of a knowledge domain with respective subject matter experts and specify mappings between different domain specific ontologies


• Support data and technology teams, as they integrate heterogeneous unstructured, semi-structured, and well-structured data into our Data Pipelines and Data & Analytics Platform


• Assist in developing tooling to support capture of domain concepts, to allow model/ontology extension by subject matter experts and to explore ontologies


• Assisting with data QA, process and method optimizations, support data & analytics system deployment, troubleshooting and user training

Requirements

• Graduate degree in library science, linguistics, information management, data science or other related discipline


• Longstanding expertise in building and maintaining ontologies, taxonomies and EKG-based solutions & analytics services, preferably in the banking environment


• Proficiency in semantic web standards, such as RDF, OWL, SKOS, FIBO and experience in validating and querying semantic models using SPARQL, SHAQL


• Proficiency in modelling techniques for conceptual, logical, and physical data models; developing, implementing and maintaining large, complex taxonomies and ontologies; ontology / terminology management and classification tools, such as Protégé or Poolparty


• In-depth understanding of data-related topics - data architecture, data management & analytics, data lineage, data governance, data lifecycle management, data standards, data storage methods


• Pleasant and winning appearance paired with a high level of communication and consulting competence as well as mediating solution orientation


• Ability to work independently and take ownership and accountability on assigned tasks driving execution through completion


• Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical aptitude with the ability to apply critical judgment coupled with sound analysis and troubleshooting skills


• Finance industry experience strongly preferred


• Excellent written and spoken in English and German
