Description


As a Government Affairs & Policy Manager, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of external and internal government affairs strategies in order to shape the environment across Bristol-Myers Squibb therapeutic areas. Additionally, the Government Affairs & Policy Manager sharpens and enhances the reputation of Bristol Myers Squibb in Switzerland and support its growth.


Main responsibilities:



  • Represent and anchor the new GA&P strategies within BMS Switzerland and outside

  • Establish a monitoring in order to identify political challenges and opportunities for BMS and evaluate their impact and possible measures for BMS.

  • Develop and execute several government affairs initiatives in order to go public (incl. development of communication tools such as infographics, reports, fact sheets, talking points, briefings, websites etc.)

  • Engage with internal stakeholders and support on local positioning and government affairs insights & actions

  • Engage in initiatives with external stakeholder e.g. industry associations, chamber of commerce, diverse working groups internal and external, policy-makers, journalists, other policy opinion leaders

  • Support GA&P activities such as events, media work, trade association engagement, briefings

  • Work closely with BMS global GA&P to stay ahead of policy changes, which can have an impact for Switzerland


Qualification



  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in political science, law, economics, international affairs or similar

  • Preferred 2-3 years of government affairs/policy or public affairs consultancy related experience, ideally in or for the pharmaceutical industry

  • Ideally direct work experience in the government or parliament, and/or in local trade association and/or in an agency responsible for pharmaceutical clients and/or in a similar position in a pharmaceutical company

  • Very good knowledge of Swiss health care and policy system

  • Broad understanding of the political landscape in Switzerland

  • Strong communications skills in local languages (German, French and/or Italian) as well as in English  

  • Capable of engaging with several different interest groups without losing view of the essential

  • Efficient and organized working style with good project management skills

  • Have an analytic and strategic thinking but also with a hands-on and flexible attitude in order to realize projects in time

  • Trustworthy, engaged and positive personality who enjoys working in a small team
