70-year history and sustained commitment in neuroscience, Novartis brought landmark therapies to patients with e.g. Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Epilepsy, Depression and Migraine. We have a world class pipeline in neuro-inflammation, neurodegeneration, neuromuscular, pediatric neurology and refractory psychiatric diseases.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Develop a global integrated Market Access & Payer strategy (for 1 – 3 compounds/brands) aimed at delivering the product differentiation most relevant to payers (e.g. target patient population, clinical end-points, clinical comparators, outcome measures, utility instruments, Health Economics data, etc.)
• Ensure that at launch, Novartis brands are supported by a robust payer value proposition including 3 core elements - ‘Value for money’ story, strong evidence package and a pricing strategy maximizing the life-time value of the brand (including existing and future evidence to justify and maintain price)
• Establish and lead a cross-functional Value & Access Team (V&AT) and ensure close alignment between insights into the patient journey, payer evidence needs, and plans to generate evidence (clinical, HEOR, etc.) to support payer value proposition and pricing strategy
• Represent Market Access & Payer perspective on the Global Brand Teams (GBT)
• Be accountable for the Market Access & Payer perspective being appropriately reflected (integrated) in the overarching product development, medical affairs and commercial strategy
• Disease Primers, pricing research, etc.) Gather Region/Country input and/or feedback and integrate into the Market Access strategy
Minimum requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
• Postgraduate degree in medicine, pharmacology, sciences, business administration health policy, health economic or other relevant qualification
• 8+ years relevant experience acquired at pharmaceutical companies, HTA, physician associations or health care consultancy companies
• Deep understanding of payer/HTA environment and evolution across countries/regions
• Ability to work and lead (a cross-functional team) in a matrix environment, communicate effectively and motivate team alongside having a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of organization
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to draw insights/derive viable strategic options for payers that offer opportunities to align cross-functionally to deliver superior value from the analytical research
Desirable requirements:
• Knowledge of the disease areas within the Business Franchise of Neuroscience
• Strong solution-orientation & a very collaborative mindset
