We are a part of Emerging Technologies and Incubation Group focused on identifying breakthrough emerging solutions that create new markets and businesses for Cisco.  We incubate these new opportunities in partnership with our business groups, partners and other startups.  The team also continues to progress Cisco’s important work with Standards bodies and manage research partnerships with leading-edge Universities. 

What You'll Do 

We are looking for a passionate and hands-on Sr Data Scientist to join us on the sprint that takes us from prototype to Product.  You will be an integral part of the Bodyguard team, joining us at the earliest stage of the journey and responsible for designing, developing and testing new features for a completely new product. The right candidate thrives in dynamic environments and can be counted on when the going gets tough. The ideal candidate is also a great communicator with terrific follow-through who can optimize on workflow and/or document changes concisely. This role is critical to the daily acquisition of customers and their retention. 

Responsibilities include: 

• Design cutting edge data models and algorithms based on statistical or AI/ML technology. 


• Propose sensor fusion architecture and implementation related to biometrics, location and environmental factors. 


• Implement prototype and product grade code for cutting-edge solutions. 


• Test of the solution with highest standard. 


• Integration of the solution. 


• Define solutions, provide estimates on effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility 


• Assessment of the maturity and prevalence of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies in industry for use in scalable and resilient authentication solution 


• Evaluation of selected technologies for specific system development tasks 

Our minimum requirements for this role: 

• PhD in Data Science, Information Technology or similar 


• Expert in in signal processing, statistical models and calculations 


• Expert in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technics 


• Expert knowledge and implementation on Fourier transform, video and audio encoding 


• Proficiency in at least one visualization tool and/or library 


• Proficiency in statistics, data mining, and predictive modeling 


• Experience in statistic and control theory, inertial sensors, and sensor fusion 


• Experience developing and deploying deep learning algorithms 


• Experience with a variety of machine learning techniques 


• Excited to tackle difficult research questions 


• Expert in Python or similar and C++ or similar 


• Programming experience in Go, REST APIs 

Our Desired Skills are: 

• Experience using machine learning to develop products or in industry 


• Real world experience with system integration and deployment 


• Experienced in facial/voice recognition 


• Experience in behavioral analysis 


• Experience with Voice over IP 


• Experience with H.264 encoding
