</div>The Swiss CFO is a key role responsible for leading the finance teams for Switzerland placed in Austria and Portugal. The role is responsible for the 3 pillars of finance – Commercial Finance, Finance Control and Operational Finance. The CFO is responsible to manage annual turnover of around 350m GBP across the countries (CH, PT; CZ) and around 1200 employees in 10 legal entities.



The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing the finance function across multiple markets with an emphasis of strong team leadership and management across the different pillars of the finance operating model (commercial finance, controllership and operations) and effective collaboration with senior business leaders and stakeholder management is crucial to be effective in this role.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:


Lead the finance team in all aspects



  • Leads the development of a high performing and commercially focussed finance team in the market.

  • Drive and manage financial performance, accurate revenue forecasting and key cost management to deliver on budgeted market OP margin in close collaboration with the COO.

  • Establish a strong Target Operating Model for Finance in Switzerland

  • Continue to emphasize the importance of financial control and confidence in our balance sheets. Ensure accountability and ownership of the balance sheet remediation and improvement plans.

  • Focus on improving finance talents in the market and assess current strengths and weaknesses of teams

  •  Be the strategic commercial finance partner to CEO & COO, support development of business strategy and delivery against strategic goals.

  • Leads the short and long-term budgetary planning and cost management

  • Supports the growth and reshaping of business portfolio in the market with CEO & COO

  • Sponsors the building and development of finance capabilities, tools and skills within the market on a continuing basis to increase efficiency and the value add of the Finance team across the business

  • Champion for strategic initiatives in the DACH cluster in alignment with the DACH CFO and in collaboration with other functions, namely HR, legal, technology and operations.

  • Runs External audits with the audit teams for local GAAP in PT, CZ and CH plus the IFRS package audit with the audit team in CH.



Qualifications and Experience:



  • CFO / Senior finance leadership experience preferred; experience of leading large teams and multiple direct reports and key stakeholders through effective delegation necessary.

  • Broad experience across the range of CFO responsibilities, including commercial finance support, finance operations and process, controls and compliance improvements.

  • Track record of providing strong strategic and commercial partnership and support to business leaders, with proven outcomes.

  • Experience of contributing to and sharing multiple market strategy, acquisitions and post-merger integration

  • Strong operational focus on project based businesses is preferred given 90% of the Swiss market is project business

  • Strong operational focus on media related business but given relatively small size can be delegated to a strong Commercial Finance Partner.

  • Extensive experience of pricing and negotiation is a desirable skill

  • Experience of business and finance transformation  

  • Graduate degree and/or internationally recognised finance/accounting qualification (i.e. ACA/CPA, CMA or CFA) or MBA with Finance specialism
