Job overview:


 


As the V&A Lead for European Partner Markets (EPM) and as a member of the EPM Leadership Team (LT), you will work in the ever changing and dynamic market access landscape in those European countries where Biogen is marketing its medications in collaboration with local partners and distributors (known as the EPM region).  In doing so, you will drive the development, coordination and execution of the pricing and access strategy for Biogen’s in-market and development portfolio in this region, in collaboration with these partners/distributors. Furthermore, as the Europe, Canada and Partner Markets (ECP) V&A Lead for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Fumerate portfolio of Biogen, you will conceptualise, coordinate and drive the implementation of the pricing and access strategy for Biogen’s in-market and development portfolio of MS fumerates across the region, in partnership with medical and commercial stakeholders and Biogen affiliate access teams across the ECP region.


 


Principal accountabilities:


 


1. Drive and support partners’ pricing and market access and reimbursement activities, including insights gathering and understanding of local dynamics, strategy setting and execution (timelines, implications and evidence needs) and (operational) pricing activities for the in-market and developmental portfolio of Biogen to maximize the probability of market access success and the sustainability of patient access and revenue


2.  The individual will manage and coordinate a strategic approach and facilitation of best practice sharing and capability building for pricing and access-related topics, challenges and opportunities for Biogen’s in-market and developmental portfolio between the partner markets but also share learnings from the other global markets.


3. Where possible and applicable, present and collaborate on innovative contracting approaches to successfully negotiate and conclude reimbursement discussions on Biogen’s portfolio in EPM markets.  Help design and structure agreements with the partners and payers that honor the specifics of the drug and allows for the specificities of the local market conditions.


4.  Participate in cross functional activities to ensure and maximize the (sustainability of) access and commercial success, such as business case presentations, offering strategic input to regulatory processes, prepare trainings for the partners and many other cross functional activities.


5. Conceptualise, coordinate and drive the implementation of the pricing and access strategy for Biogen’s in-market and development portfolio of MS fumerates across the ECP region, in partnership with medical and commercial stakeholders and affiliate access teams across the ECP region. This will include payer insights gathering and understanding of local dynamics, strategy setting and execution (timelines, implications and evidence needs) and (operational) pricing coordination to maximize the probability of market access success and the sustainability of patient access and revenue of the MS fumerate portfolio in the ECP region


 


6.  The individual should be happy to travel to liaise and work directly with the partners and Biogen afffiliates in their local markets, accompanying them to interact directly with the payers to support negotiations.


Qualifications


Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Masters or PhD preferred


Minimum of 7-10 years hands-on experience in relevant pricing, market access, reimbursement and public affairs in either pharma or consultancy in a regional/global level. Local access (negotiation) experience and prior experience in a role involving partners/distributors is preferred/would be an asset.
