About the Role

Are you experienced in writing about sustainability topics, answering sustainability questionnaires, and working on sustainability reports? Do you enjoy working across different fields, functions and cultures? If yes, this job plays to your strengths!

As a Sustainability Communications Manager, you will:

• shape and implement our sustainability communications strategy, and write on sustainability topics;


• compile responses for sustainability rating questionnaires;


• write and edit content for, and help execute the yearly Sustainability Reporting process;


• advance Swiss Re's sustainability reporting, and evaluate a move to integrated reporting

At Group Sustainability, we enable sustainable and profitable growth for Swiss Re by driving the Group Sustainability Strategy. We strive for sustainability leadership within our industry, and we quantify and measure our progress. We partner with Business Units and Group Functions to embed sustainability in all aspects of our business and to drive commercial opportunities with a long-term perspective. We engage with sustainability stakeholders – including clients, investors and regulators – to identify, assess and steer sustainability topics and to position Swiss Re. We coordinate and substantiate communication and reporting of sustainability internally and externally.

About You

In your role, you have a strong understanding of sustainability, and demonstrate seasoned reporting and communication skills that enable you to lead related initiatives and exercises. You are part of an agile team that drives sustainability at Swiss Re.

You bring along the following qualifications and experience:

• Master or equivalent degree in a sustainability-related field such as Environmental Sciences or Social Science, preferably with further education in Communications


• Three to five years of experience as a sustainability communications manager, and developing and executing sustainability reporting


• Strong knowledge of the "sustainability ecosystem" in general and for sustainable finance in particular, including relevant organizations such as UNGC or UNEP FI, knowledge of sustainability standards and frameworks such as SDGs, GRI, TCFD, UN PSI, IIRC, and ongoing developments in these areas


• Experience with sustainability ratings and questionnaires (eg DJSI, CDP)

You master the following skills:

• Superior communications and writing skills, demonstrating an outstanding proficiency in English; (written and spoken) is a requirement, additional languages such a German would be beneficial


• Strong planning and/or project management skills
