Abbott Established Pharma Division is looking for a


Therapeutic Area Insights Partner


based in Basel, Switzerland.


The overall aim of this role is to deliver actionable insights that achieve a competitive advantage and support our team objective to become a customer insight driven business.


You will be an individual contributor on Manager level working in a global matrix organization across several regions.


Core Job Responsibilities:



  • Act as a global center of excellence for Market Insights in the Established Products Division (EPD) for the Emerging Markets


  • Perform forward-looking strategic analyses, as well as plan and implement global market research studies to maximize the business opportunity for marketed brands and provide key insights to the development and marketing of future brands and the assessment of business development opportunities


  • Proactively focuses on their allocated TA and regional business issues. Understand and represent the different customers (patient and HCP) of his TA; know the main players and follow competitive actions.


  • Work with Local and Regional Insight Managers to produce high business impact insight studies that aim to drive growth.


  • As an associated member of the global brand team provide expert analyses, insights and recommendations on key EPD brands, geographic expansion, ITB projects and business development activities.

  • Leads the foundational understanding of global brands, indications and market dynamics within Therapy Areas of responsibility

  • Works with Therapy Areas to develop annual research plans based on brand gaps and strategic priorities.

  • Manage high business impact insight studies that aim to drive growth.

  • Proactively provide thought leadership to influence business stakeholders in order to make the appropriate business decision through the lenses of our customers and business priorities.

  • Drives a culture of costumer curiosity, insight generation and analytical thinking that produce competitive advantage

  • Drive innovation and portfolio expansion through insights, identifying unmet and future customer needs.

  • Achieve high scoring KPIs in line with our Insight Department initiatives, the insight community tools and advanced insight generation techniques and approaches.

  • Leverage local knowledge and drive synergistic projects with affiliates (Primary Market Research, forecasting, bench marking analyses)


Your Profile:



  • Market Research Social Studies or equivalent certificate from a Market Research Society


  • Economics/business university degree (masters equivalent) or scientific degree with strong business acumen preferred but not essential if proven experience matches.

  • Proactive and can-do and assertive attitude is a must with proven track record of driving insights within a business.

  • Minimum of 5 years of international experience in the Healthcare sector as Research / Insights Manager (company or consultancy), or as researcher with a market research agency

  • In-depth knowledge of the key secondary data sources for the pharmaceutical industry (IMS)

  • Experience in the area of branded generics and emerging markets preferred

  • Skills: Highly analytical, excellent communication skills, experienced in project management, high level business English (1 other language preferred), team player, innovative, proactive, solution oriented, customer focused, business acumen

  • Good project planning and time management is a must.


Language requirement: Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus
