Job Description

To support our growth, Open Web Technology has an immediate opening for a Principal Software Engineer with demonstrated software development and team management experiences.

As a Seasoned Software Engineer / Manager, you have participated in building complex digital solutions, but you want to go much further than this: you want to work with our clients from strategy definition and technical blueprints (e.g. IT architecture design) until development and implementation of their vision.

Our projects vary in scope and complexity. We are building classic solutions such as E-commerce systems, mobile applications, or web platforms, as well as cutting edge applications such as NLP-AI systems, chatbots, or "assembled-from- scratch" complex back-end solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support our clients in the definition and the roll-out of complex digital projects and IT solutions


• Challenge and lift our digital design and development work to the next level, identify areas of concern and opportunity, and coach project teams to successful outcomes


• Participate hands-on and actively in client projects, designing the overall solution and ensuring high-quality client deliverables


• Inspire and contribute to the evolution of our company's development practices and the adoption of new technology trends


• Bring an optimistic and entrepreneurial mindset to our work, supporting directors to spot and enable new business opportunities, and provide support with creating proposals and pitching for new business


• Contribute with other leaders in growing and developing the organization in line with our company strategy


• Act as an inspiring leader and coach to the local and offshore development team, supporting our aspiring colleagues in their professional and personal development


• Act as a single point of contact for all development team-related topics and issues


• Support the consulting and sales team, i.e. during quotes, customer meetings, and workshops

Requirements

Mandatory Skills

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering architecting and developing enterprise applications using object-oriented languages or functional languages


• Minimum 5 years of experience in web development, B2B and B2C solution


• Demonstrated experience in coaching and managing software development teams


• Responsible for production environment for at least 2 years (covering infrastructure, development, monitoring)


• Experience in continuous delivery


• Expert in designing distributed and high concurrent systems


• Experience with popular open-source components and frameworks, for example, Spring Boot, Angular, and at least one of the following technologies .NET, Rails, Node.js, Python


• Experience in cloud deployments using public as well as private clouds


• Experience in setting up an offshore or nearshore team


• French native, fluency in English, German a big plus



• Applicants must be Swiss resident or have a valid permit for Switzerland
