• Performs analysis and reporting of all savings tracking and category performance management. Develops procedures and tools to support the process.
• Supports the development of spend analytics capabilities within the Procurement function, sharing knowledge and leading practices as well as tools and techniques.
• Participates in Category Management planning
• Supports sourcing, negotiating and contracting strategies to achieve category goals
• Supports category implementation for catalogs, Guided Buying, and Sourcing playbook development
• Supports supplier management activities
• Performs cost modeling in alignment with Category Management teams to support business cases and ongoing what-if scenario building for category strategy development and sourcing efforts
• Partners with Category Leads to establish savings targets by category and/or program.
• Ensure market competitive sourcing. Initiates market studies for various categories to identify market trends.
• Provides functional and category analytics, both routinely and on an ad-hoc basis as required.
• Monitors current spend and forecasted spend and areas for savings.

The Global Business Services (GBS) and Business Optimization team is a newly formed organization established to transform Biogen’s business processes to set a platform to scale global operations, fuel commercial growth and the innovation pipeline. Further, GBS will provide further value by developing and delivering a suite of business solutions and support services that are valued by internal customers. GBS will deliver services by leveraging a global delivery model, operational transparency and metrics, leveraging global best practices, and a service-oriented process improvement culture. All solutions will be supported by strong business cases and ultimately monitored for the effectiveness and efficiency against benchmarks and service level agreements.
