dnata is a leading global provider of aviation services with a presence in 126 airports across 35 countries with its head office in Dubai. In Switzerland, dnata has been providing ground handling services at the international airports of Zurich and Geneva for more than 60 years. We are opening a position for our office in Zurich:

Head of Operations (100%)

As Head of Operations you are responsible for the successful financial and operational management of dnata’s ground services unit at Zurich Airport in accordance with internal business goals, strategies and budget guidelines. This includes the line management function for the operational department management teams (Ground Logistics, Passenger Services, Cargo Operations).

Your responsibilities:

• You are accountable for the day-to-day operations of the ground services unit at Zurich Airport


• You ensure and maintain a premium service delivery quality as per defined KPIs, customer expectations and airport policies


• You maintain a healthy and safe working environment in accordance with all regulatory and internal requirements


• You guarantee fulfilment of key industry accreditation requirements (ISO/ISAGO/CAA etc.)


• You provide for an effective and efficient resource planning & allocation concept for the daily operation


• You ensure the unit’s operational readiness to activate and follow incident as well as emergency response plans


• Focused on continuous improvement, you implement an efficient and lean organization structure


• You participate in the budgeting & planning cycle, ensure accurate reporting and cost control


• You develop, coordinate and implement operational projects, tools and initiatives and assist in architecting dnata Switzerland’s strategy and business growth


• You maintain a strong relationship with airport authorities, business & social partners


• You liaise effectively and collaborate with all corporate support and management functions

Your profile:

• You have strong experience and qualifications in senior operational management functions in the aviation or logistics industry for at least 5 years (e.g. ground handling, logistics, airline or airport)


• You have a proven track record in successful P&L ownership & change management


• You demonstrate strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills with a team player attitude and a pronounced customer-oriented focus


• You exercise sound decision-making & proactive initiative-taking


• You have excellent organization skills and ability to create, implement structures and processes


• You are fluent in German and English (oral & written)
