Amberg Technologies AG is a Swiss SME operating worldwide within the Amberg Group. We seek to fill the following position in Regensdorf (Zürich), Switzerland  

Head of R&D Unit - Precision Measurement Systems

Reporting directly to the managing director, you will lead the interdisciplinary development teams from the areas of software engineering and mechatronics in Switzerland and Brno (CZ) with a total of 20 team members. You will be responsible for the analysis, design, architecture and implementation of SW and HW development projects, while maintaining the innovation process.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiation and management of development projects 


• Ensure that development methodology and architecture of our products are future ori-ented and supporting our overall strategy


• Ensure that technology and product roadmaps are aligned


• Evaluate and manage external technology and development partners


• Organization, development and management of the team including ensuring that the right competencies regarding technology and domain knowledge are deployed purpose-fully


• Management of budget and resources for the entire development Unit

Desired Skills

• A Master / PhD degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, or similar, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in an equal role, ideally with 3D software applications


• Sound experience with product development processes and product lifecycle manage-ment for hardware and software products


• Sound knowledge and several years of experience in software development (C/C++, C#/.NET, Python), including cloud based applications, machine learning and AI


• Demonstrated results and experience in agile development processes


• Willingness to travel (approx. 20%)


• Very good written / spoken command of English (German or other languages is an as-set)
