Main Purpose of the Role:


 


The Residential House Parent is responsible to supervise students between the ages of 10 and 18 years and organise activities/animations.


 


The Residential House Parent will reside on campus in shared accommodations and will be responsible for students’ care and well-being overnight.

      • Training period: 02.07-04.07

      • Session 1: 05.07-18.07

      • Session 2: 19.07-01.08

      • Session 3: 02.08-15.08

      • Excursion week: 16.08-23.08




 



  • Hours:                  8.5 hours per day

  • Day off:               1 day per week

  • Salary:                  1st Year: 1’650 CHF / Session


                                           2nd Year: 1’900 CHF / Session


 


                                           A premium of CHF 300.—will be paid to the candidates who will work for the 3 sessions.


                                           Excursion week: CHF 1,000 (1st and 2nd Year)


 


Key Responsibilities:


 



  • Welcome and look after children from 10 to 18 years

  • Accompany and supervise children in the afternoon, evening and overnight

  • Entertain by leading hands-on

  • Organise games, sports activities, workshops and shows

  • Ensure the safety of children during trips on and off campus

  • Be responsible for children’s hygiene and safety

  • Ensure compliance with Collège du Léman health and safety regulations and take care of school equipment

  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for boarding students

  • Implement the boarding house code of conduct, ensuring that, along with sanctions, rewards are provided for deserving boarders

  • Promote acceptance of other cultures within the boarding house

  • Languages required: English and French

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Motivated, dynamic, flexible, professional, organized, and creative

  • Ability to work in a team environment is vital

  • Availability in July and August, weekends included

CPR & First Aid knowledge

CPR & First Aid certificate

Lifeguard certificate/diploma

Driver’s license

Experience

Experience working in childcare supervision (summer camp) mandatory

Early childhood education certificate

 

Prior Knowledge

Fluent English and French compulsory

Knowledge of other foreign language (e.g., Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic)
