Main Purpose of the Role


 


The Residential Activity Leader – Performing Art is in charge of students from all over the world between the ages of 8 and 18 years. The responsibilities are to organize and lead Dance and Drama Activities for students in the mornings and to supervise other activities and animations according to the established planning during the afternoons. The Residential Activity Leader will be residing on campus in shared accommodations and responsible for the care of the students in that villa overnight.

      • Training period: 02.07-04.07

      • Session 1: 05.07-18.07

      • Session 2: 19.07-01.08

      • Session 3: 02.08-15.08

      • Excursion week: 16.08-23.08



  • Hours:                   Average of 8,5 h / day

  • Day off:                1 day / week

  • Salary:                  1st Year: 1’650 CHF / Session


                                          2nd Year: 1’900 CHF / Session


 


       A premium of CHF 300.—will be paid to the candidates who will work for the 3 sessions.


 


Key Responsibilities:


 



  • Welcoming and monitoring children from 8 to 18 years

  • Accompanying and supervising children all day, afternoon and evening

  • Entertaining by leading hands-on and/or sports activities

  • Organizing games, workshops and shows

  • Ensuring the safety of children during all trips in or out of the Summer Camp

  • Being responsible for children’s hygiene and safety

  • Ensuring the compliance with health and safety rules of Collège du Léman and respecting the material and the areas.


 


Skills and Competencies


 



  • Experience working with children and teens

  • Experience in teaching or practicing several specific Dance or Drama activities

  • Responsible and autonomous

  • Ability to reassure children and parents

  • Languages required: English and French (Russian, Japanese, Chinese or Arabic is a plus)

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Works well under pressure

  • Motivated, dynamic, flexible, professional, organized, and creative

  • Sports oriented (in order to participate in various sporting and hiking activities arranged for the children)

  • Ability to work in a team environment is vital

  • Availability in July and August

  • Being available to work on weekends

Qualification

CPR & First Aid knowledge

University Degree in Dance or Drama

CPR & First Aid certificate

Lifeguard certificate/diploma

Driver’s license

Experience

Experience working in childcare supervision (summer camp) mandatory

Successful track record of teaching Dance and or Drama to students

Early childhood education certificate

 

Prior Knowledge

Fluent English and French compulsory

Knowledge of other foreign language (eg. Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic)
