Technical Lead -System Engineering and Administration


Profile / Qualifications:



  • Bachelor degree or equivalent and including a certificate for infrastructure engineering

  • 10 or more years of experience in system administration and related engineering activities

  • Know-how of the Swiss Clearing and Settlement Marketplace, its custodian network, its regulatory and risk management environment, interfaces to the SECOM Clearing and Settlement platform, interfaces to the SWIFT and other application gateways

  • DevOps process support and refinement, include scripting, tuning of databases and IT system resources

  • Specialised work experience to manage business critical IT infrastructure using:

    • OS – Linux; certified (RHEL 7, SUSE 11), Solaris 11, Windows Server 2012, JBoss EAP 7, Apache Tomcat

    • RDBMS – ORACLE 11g R2, Oracle 12x and MYSQL 5.5, Postgres

    • Virtualization – VM server, KVM, LDOM, Docker, Openshift

    • Messaging – TCP, MQ

    • Scripting – Bash, Python, Puppet

    • Programming Languages – Pl/SQL, C, PHP, HTML (for release management and testing activities)

    • IT Tools – Jenkins, Artifactory, Apache Jmeter, Firebug, Wireshark


  • Experience with and passion for waterfall and agile methodologies as well as end-to-end testing procedures

  • Experience with working in geographically dispersed application development and testing teams

  • An open mindset and outstanding capability to think out of the box

  • Absolute integrity and discretion

  • No criminal record


The successful candidate is responsible for the development, integration and customization of new and existing Virtusa private banking suite products as well as for the maintenance of existing products (customization and integration) and in-life support.


Special Requirements:
Analyzing business demands, evaluate cost and benefits, suggest IT solutions and develop models for our customer’s proprietary application platform in the finance industry.


You will be responsible for administering, updating and implementing IT system changes for simple to complex systems infrastructure, adhering to the established industry standards for the finance industry.
The role will also involve monitoring and controlling the performance and status of the infrastructure on which the business applications operate.


This role also ensures optimal infrastructure availability, security, integrity and performances. When these are compromised, the administrator will ensure that prompt and competent action is undertaken.


You will work with other technical and application development teams to support continuous improvements to ensure better security, reliability and resilience, whilst at the same time making the IT environment more cost effective.
