Payroll Accountant

EF is currently seeking a knowledgeable Payroll Accountant to join our team in Zurich. As Payroll Accountant you will be responsible for the salary reporting of more than 150 full time employees as well as around 200-300 temporary staff for our German legal entities.


The Role



  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of payroll related reporting for several DE companies on a monthly basis

  • Ensure high quality monthly, quarterly and yearly financial closings for payroll related entries

  • Dealing with all kind of payroll queries

  • Handle all payroll related changes (e.g. new starters, leavers, salary increases, maternity leave, etc.)

  • Prepare and upload payroll journals into the bookkeeping system

  • Initiate and implement continuous improvements related to payroll processes

  • Administration of Absence Tool

  • Work on several ad-hoc projects

  • Travels on occasional base

Qualifications:



  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/ Finance/ Economics or similar.

  • three or more years of experience in the field of payroll accounting in Germany

  • Attention to detail and ability to analyse.

  • Strong competence in MS Excel.

  • Strong competence in Datev (Lodas) and Accounting knowledge

  • The ability to structure, plan and prioritize work in order to deliver against multiple deadlines.

  • Strong communication and social skills, able to work in German and English (written & verbal) and with all levels of management.

  • Competencies in other languages is considered an advantage.
