We are looking for a Scientist as Sample Manager (100%).

Your responsibilities:

• Perform experiments and procedures requiring specific scientific or technical knowledge and laboratory techniques according to input from supervisor.


• Document own experiment in lab notebook (including tables, graphs…).


• Provide basic data analysis and may provide assistance in design of next experiment.


• Present results to supervisor and may present to lab at project meetings.


• Work collaboratively with team / Offer assistance to co-workers.


• Maintain awareness of and provide recommendations on standard laboratory tools and procedures.


• Implement new lab techniques according to literature.


• Assist in the preparation of laboratory instructions/guidelines for department, where appropriate.


• Operate and perform routine maintenance on instruments.


• Conduct activities in compliance with Novartis safety, animal welfare, waste disposal and other regulatory guidelines.

 

 

Your profile:

• Education: BS or MS or equivalent in scientific discipline with appropriate years of experience in drug discovery or other related laboratory research.


• Know-how of laboratory procedures, instrumentation and data processing.


• Demonstrate working knowledge of relevant HSE policies and procedures (e.g. laboratory and personal protective equipment), animal welfare etc.


• Experience and knowledge in biological sample shipment procedures and guidelines. (IATA regulations, import and export permits applications including CITES permits, etc...).


• Good oral and written communication skills in English; knowledge in German or French is optional.
