Job description

Work location Biel/Bienne, Bussigny

The ICT System Engineer Linux will be in charge of maintenance and development of the Linux servers solutions in conjunction with our Data Center Infrastructure. In addition, he/she collaborates with the 1st   and 2nd level support and has a detailed understanding of all services provided by the IT Infrastructure Department..

Your responsibilities

• Linux Service management


• OS images management


• Sync-up meeting organization


• Patching strategy and monitoring


• Help in automation of deploying images for vSphere, AHV and IBM Power environment


• test and deploy new versions


• Setup operational procedures and train the IT operation team


• Bring the technical and architectural competences in troubleshooting ad-hoc teams


• Contact with suppliers (licensing, support, TAM )


• Service management (billing, services description, kpi...)


• Works on innovations for the continuous improvement of the service and implements the new solutions


• Assist the storage and virtualisation team in setting up state of the art architectures, adapted to the technological and business requirements


• On-call service during the year is mandatory

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science


• Willingness to keep learning


• Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Suse) and Ansible or other automation tools


• Knowledge in IBM Power, Plesk, MariaDB or containers is a plus


• Fluent in French and English is required (spoken and written)


• Strong communicator; ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people


• Structured, self-organized with an analytical approach


• Self-starter, autonomous, rigorous, customer focused


• Able to initiate new ideas


• Ability to delegate tasks


• Good project coordinating skills

Professional requirements
