You'll be a key member of the Supply Chain Management team within the Power Grids, High Voltage Business Line in Zürich Oerlikon. Reporting to the supply chain manager, you will provide assistance to the company as a whole by ensuring that all procurement activities comply with the policies and procedures of the company.


Your responsibilities



  • Purchase equipment on behalf of the company in accordance with the required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and conditions defined

  • Negotiate agreements with the main suppliers and periodically renew the rates as well as the terms and conditions

  • Support other departments by providing relevant information of the market

  • Monitor the performance of suppliers (delivery times, quality, execution times) and solve performance problems

  • Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with the quality and engineering specialists

  • Align supplier orders with customer requirements in terms of content, quality, delivery, durability, and price

  • Be consistent with the fundamental values of security and integrity of ABB, that is, take responsibility for your own actions, while taking care of your colleagues and the company


Your background



  • Master’s degree in industrial engineering an management or equal

  • Five or more years of experience in the field of procurement, as a strategic buyer

  • Experience in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) systems

  • Mastery of SAP and all office automation software (Office Suite)

  • Have a collaborative attitude oriented on solutions and strong communication skills
