If you answered Yes to all the above questions, then we’re interested in hearing from you! We are looking for the next generation of high-performing engineers or managers, multi-lingual technical talents, on the way to be graduated, to take our company forward. We offer you a 6 months internship position in our global IT department and (IT & Enterprise Architecture team) in Buchs SG, Switzerland. This internship is a great opportunity to get a very good overview and understanding of the overall Hilti IT landscape and digital world.

Start date is flexible to the student's availability, duration for at least 4 months

Who is Hilti?

We provide leading-edge tools, technologies, software and services for the global construction sector. Hilti is a multicultural workplace with 127 different nationalities committed to global teamwork.

Global IT within Hilti is a truly global team with main hubs in Buchs (Switzerland), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Plano/Tulsa (USA). All locations have highly competent teams who work very closely together. Hilti`s Global IT team is known for their focus on sustainable value creation by translating latest IT innovations into value creating solutions & services.

What does the role involve?

This internship is a great opportunity to get to know a real system IT landscape of a global company. Reporting directly to the global enterprise architect, you will have to go through the iterative Enterprise Architecture Management process for one or several specific IT Team(s) and related business areas (e.g. sales & marketing, supply chain management, Product & IT services, Infrastructure). In a first phase called “shape the present” you will have to collect information for updating the current IT landscape of the addressed domain. Combining a top-down and bottom-up approach and applying our architecture blue prints and patterns, you will have to formalize how the related IT solutions are integrated within the global IT landscape. Once these first objectives achieved, the target is to assess this IT landscape in collaboration with solution owners and architects and to identify improvement potentials and support them drawing / adapting their IT roadmap.
We want your thirst to learn, courage to challenge and desire to improve things, including yourself.

Diversity is in the nature of our corporate culture and business and you will have plenty of chances to communicate with many Hilti talented people and bring up your ideas.

CAREER – A big amount of our entry positions in the Global IT department are filled with previous interns. It’s a testament to how much we value, develop and look after our people.

What do we offer?

We’ll give you the tools you need to excel in your internship, including one-to-one coaching. You’ll enjoy a rare combination of autonomy and camaraderie, as you’ll manage your own project while being part of a friendly team.

You’ll not just be another pair of hands but a fully integrated team member with lots of self-responsibility. From there, we’ll trust you to do whatever it takes to deliver outstanding results. Go the extra mile and we’ll reward you with strategic development discussions and career opportunities.

We’ll support you even before you start with us through relocation and integration support. With the international interns community at Hilti you’ll never be bored. Further, the snow-draped mountains, crystal-clear lakes and marvelous landscapes in the Happy Valley invite for lots of outdoor activities.

Why should you apply?

We have an excellent mix of people, which we believe makes for a more vibrant, more innovative, more productive team. So, if you have no knowledge of construction, that’s fine with us. We’re more interested in your ability, commitment and drive to succeed.

What you need is:

  • You’re a global and system thinker, interested in IT solutions and governance topics. You combine both analytical and holistic system thinking mindset.
