 Examples of applications include: cognitive, affective and social neuroscience, cognitive and effective assessment, cognitive and behavioral therapy, neurological rehabilitation, gait and upper limb rehabilitation. The facility is part of the larger Human Neuroscience Platform (HNP) of Campus Biotech, offering equipment and competences for human neuroscience research, including but not limited to neurophysiology and electrical neuroimaging, non-invasive brain stimulation or neuromodulation, psychophysics, cognitive and behavioral experimentation, movement and gait analysis, and magnetic resonance imaging.


Combining strong engineering, analytical and organizing skills, you will join the current team of three Virtual Reality Facility engineers. You will work with researchers and engineers of Campus Biotech in designing, developing and maintaining software and hardware solutions for research projects involving virtual reality, motion capture technology, biomechanics and robotics You will be responsible for the setup and maintenance of virtual reality equipment, including large immersive systems (stereoscopic displays, HMD, etc.), full-body motion capture, and 3D content creation tools.


Key responsibilities



  • Design and implement new interfaces/technologies for Augmented and Virtual Reality, including active participation in collaborative innovation projects with external partners

  • Develop software solutions for hardware interfacing, data collection and analysis

  • Create scenarios (scenes, avatars) per user requirements

  • Operate and manage the facility equipment, including: supervising all equipment and software, managing user access, enforcing procedures, and training of the facility users

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing across the different facilities of the Human Neuroscience Platform (HNP) of Campus Biotech


Required profile


Education


Essential



  • MSc in Computer Science and/or Engineering; PhD degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent


Desirable



  • Specialization in Virtual Reality, 3D Computer Graphics or Computer Vision



Technical skills and experience


Essential



  • Experience in software development for real-time interactive systems and computer graphics (e.g. C/C++, C#, Python)

  • Experience in game engines (e.g. Unity3D, Unreal) and hardware integration (sensors, displays, actuators)


Desirable



  • Experience and ability to apply these techniques in research projects and/or industrial projects in the field of cognitive-affective-social sciences, neuroscience, psychology, or medicine

  • Experience in biomechanical data acquisition (3D motion capture)

  • Experience in 3D design (3D scenes, human avatars animation)


Plus



  • Knowledge in OpenCV, OpenGL/DirectX

  • Experience in signal processing and data analysis

  • Team player, autonomous, creative, and solution-oriented

  • Proficient in English, French a plus


Desirable



  • Experience of working on different projects at the same time

  • Experience in multidisciplinary international groups

  • Interest in human neuroscience, cognitive science, experimental psychology
